Ambassador addresses International Academic Seminar on Industrial Cooperation and Development of Industrial Zones under CPEC at Peking University
January 06,2018
H.E. Mr. Masood Khalid, Ambassador of Pakistan, addressed the International Academic Seminar on Industrial Cooperation and Construction of Industrial Zones under CPEC on 6 January 2018.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony of the Seminar, the Ambassador appreciated the Seminar for serving as a platform for Pakistani and Chinese scholars and experts to exchange views on establishment of industrial parks and SEZs in Pakistan.
The Ambassador noted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had elevated the already close friendship between Pakistan and China to “All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.”
“Industrial Cooperation is an important cluster under CPEC. The two countries are working together to establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in all provinces and regions of Pakistan,” the Ambassador said. SEZs and industrial parks under CPEC would play a key role in Pakistan’s industrial and economic development, and stimulate job creation in Pakistan.
The Seminar was organized by the Center for Pakistan Studies of Peking University and China Three Gorges International Corporation. It was widely attended by Pakistani and Chinese officials, academics, journalists and industrial experts.
