Ambassador addresses opening ceremony of Third China-Pakistan Young Workers’ Seminar Camp
November 13,2018
Ambassador Masood Khalid addressed the opening ceremony of the third China-Pakistan Young Workers’ Seminar Camp on 13 November 2018.
The Young Workers’ Seminar Camp has been hosted annually by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) since 2016. It aims to bring together junior- to mid-career individuals from Pakistan’s public and private sector, drawn from all parts of the country. The Camp provides a platform for deepening understanding of China’s development model and strengthening bilateral cooperation at the working levels.
In his remarks, the Ambassador noted that mechanisms such as the Young Workers’ Seminar Camp are instrumental in further promoting friendly ties between the peoples of Pakistan and China.
The Ambassador stated that the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China had yielded fruitful outcomes in all areas. Progress in socioeconomic development cooperation, industrial capacity, collaboration in the SME sector, and agricultural collaborations would improve overall productivity and improve quality of life in Pakistan.
Addressing the 37 young workers comprising the Pakistan delegation, the Ambassador encouraged them to forge “a shared network of the people in both countries, who will be in the front lines of our generational endeavour to carry forward the close ties between the two nations.”
“Only by working tirelessly and together can we hope to actualize the full potential of CPEC. I hope you will learn from our Chinese friends, and emulate their discipline and dedication to work, which has been the secret behind China’s stellar progress,” the Ambassador said.
Vice Chairman ACFTU Mr. Jiang Guangping and senior officials of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (IDCPC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the China Workers’ Centre for International Exchange also addressed the event.
