Foreign Minister calls Poland's Foreign Minister
February 26,2019
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi called Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz of Poland on telephone today to discuss the evolving regional situation.
The Foreign Minister briefed Polish Foreign Minister on the current peace and security in the region, particularly in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident. The Foreign Minister stressed that despite the aggressive rhetoric emanating from India, Pakistan offered cooperation in investigating the Pulwama incident and asked India to share actionable evidence in this regard. He underscored that Pakistan desires a peaceful neighbourhood and it would remain committed to peace and stability in the region.
The Polish Foreign Minister thanked for the briefing and appreciated Pakistan's overtures towards normalizing the situation. He urged the two sides to defuse the current situation through peaceful means. Terrorism was a global menace and should be tackled through sustained action, he added.
The two Foreign Ministers agreed to continue consultations on matters of mutual importance.
