FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR AMBASSADOR MASOOD KHALID HELD IN BEIJING

A farewell reception was organized for Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Masood Khalid and his spouse by China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC) and China Pakistan Friendship Association (CPFA) in Beijing on 9^th June, 2019.
Senior Chinese and Pakistani civil and military officials, diplomats attended the farewell and acknowledged the role of Ambassador Khalid for further strengthening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China.
Addressing the audience, the relationship between Pakistan and China was based on mutual trust and mutual respect, adding, it was very much deep-rooted in the psyche of Pakistani and Chinese people.
Ambassador Khalid said he was returning to homeland after completion of his tenure with great confidence in the relationship between the two countries. “Pakistan and China are completing about 70 years of their diplomatic relationship which has truly withstood the test of time. This friendship rests in the hearts and minds of people of both countries,” he added.
He said whatever he had achieved during his stay in China was not possible without the support of Chinese friends and the teamwork and support of his colleagues in the embassy, adding, “China has been the most fascinating experience in my diplomatic career.”
He expressed the confidence that all weather friendship between the two countries would continue to grow from strength to strength. He appreciated the China International Cultural Communication Centre and Pakistan China Friendship Association for their efforts to promote people to people contacts and intellectual interaction between Pakistan and China.
Ambassador Khalid extended warmest felicitations and best wishes on celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People Republic of China.
Speaking on the occasion, President, Pakistan and China Friendship Association, Sha Zukang termed Ambassador Khalid a great friend of China and said he played the role of bridge to bring the relations further closer between China and Pakistan. “Pakistan has produced many eminent diplomats and Ambassador Khalid is one of them and I have also learned a lot from them,” he added.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Khalid, on behalf of the President of Pakistan bestowed Sitara-e-Pakistan to Executive Chairman, China International Cultural Communication Centre, Long Yuxiang for his meritorious services for deepening the relations between China and Pakistan.
A stunning cultural performance by Chinese artists enthralled the audience with their traditional Chinese and Pakistani songs.
