Ambassador-designate chairs seminar on regional situation after one year of Indian military siege in illegally occupied J&K
August 06,2020
Recently arrived Ambassador-designate of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Moin-ul-Haque, today chaired a high-level webinar with leading academics, experts and scholars. The session reviewed the prevailing regional situation in the context of continuing brutality in occupied Kashmir and other unilateral actions taken by India to the detriment of regional peace, stability and prosperity.
In his remarks, Ambassador Haque briefed the meeting on ongoing repression and increasing brutalization of the innocent people of illegally Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) since India’s illegal action of 5 August 2019. The Ambassador lauded China’s principled position and leading role in calling for the peaceful and early resolution of this longstanding dispute in accordance with the UN Charter and relevant UNSC resolutions.
The participants held an in-depth exchange of views on the worsening humanitarian and human rights situation and heightened tensions in South Asia and the broader region following the unilateral Indian action. It was agreed to further strengthen the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership as a pillar of peace and stability in the region and beyond.
