Vice President and Secretary General of the CAHE Mr. Jiang Enlai called on the Ambassador Moin ul Haque

December 10,2020

Mr. Jiang Enlai introduced the Exchange Mechanism of CPEC Consortium of Pakistani and Chinese Universities, overseen by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) and CAHE, and the successes achieved in the four meetings held so far. He also informed that the Consortium membership has risen from 19 in 2017 to 55 in 2020, which is yet another indication of its success.

Mr. Jiang Enlai apprised the Ambassador on the success of CAHE’s ‘2020 Annual International Forum on Higher Education’, which was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province from 20 to 22 November 2020 and appreciated the support received from Pakistan. Mr. Jiang Enlai also apprised the Ambassador on the 2021 work plan of Exchange Mechanism Conference of CPEC Consortium of Universities and further cooperation between the two countries under this mechanism.

The Ambassador thanked the Secretary General for the key role played by CAHE in strengthening education cooperation between the two countries, especially the increasing academic exchanges under the CPEC Universities Consortium mechanism. He also appreciated the proposal of CAHE for establishment of a Higher Education Research Institute under the CPEC Consortium mechanism, which is being examined by HEC. He hoped that the finalisation of this mechanism would further strengthen the capacity and ability of the researchers in universities in both countries, help establish dual degree programmes and would also lay a solid foundation towards a better understanding between the people of both countries.

The Ambassador and the Secretary General committed to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two brotherly countries in 2021 by joining hands and cooperating further in higher education, including the 2021 CPEC Universities Consortium Exchange Mechanism Conference.
