6th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum Held Today

6th China Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum with the theme “Post-epidemic China-Pakistan Media Corporation” was held today. The event was organized by the Embassy of People’s Republic of China, Islamabad, China Economic Network (CEN) and Pakistan-China Institute. Ambassador Moin ul Haque virtually participated in the event at the special invitation of the Chinese Embassy.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Moin ul Haque highlighted the key role of media in assisting the government to raise awareness about the disease and preventive measures. He also praised media’s role in cementing the Pakistan-China friendship which over the years has evolved into “Brotherhood and All-Weather Ties”.
The Ambassador said that as a pilot project of BRI, it is a testimony to CPEC success that Pakistan has surmounted the chronic energy crisis. It has laid out a solid infrastructure network for subsequent national development and growth. Phase-II of CPEC aims at people centric progress to make it a high-quality demonstration project of BRI.
He also expressed confidence that media cooperation between two countries will help build an objective narrative for CPEC and BRI for both domestic and international audience. In this regard he called upon the media of two countries to undertake a fair and objective assessment of BRI and highlight its success for spurring economic growth and development in partner countries.
He added that media should also help expand bilateral cultural linkages and people to people ties to advance our historical experiences, Asian values and cultural affinities should be initiated as arts and drama are best reflection of a nation’s psychology and culture. The Ambassador said that Pakistan and China are celebrating 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between two countries in 2021. Media houses of both countries could organize special programs to celebrate this important milestone and renew our resolve to take our ties to new heights.
The opening ceremony and was also addressed by the Chairman, Senate of Pakistan, Ambassador of People’s Republic of China, Pakistan Federal Minister for Railways and Chairman, Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and Pakistan- China Institute.
