Independence Day Celebrations at Pakistan Embassy

To commemorate the 75 Independence Day a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan today.
The event began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by Ambassador Moin ul Haque raising of the national flag. On this occasion messages by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out.
President Dr. Arif Alvi in his message paid homage to Quaid e Azam and other leaders of the Pakistan movement. He said that during the past seventy five years due to the hard work and sacrifices of its people, Pakistan had overcome many daunting challenges and despite all odds had established itself as a nuclear power with impregnable defense. Now the government was focusing on dealing with the social and economic challenges like increasing population, lack of health and education. He also recognized the medical professionals and admired the role of religious scholars, media and the government departments in their efforts to counter COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan. The President reiterated Pakistan’s continued support for the just Kashmiri struggle for self determination as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution.
Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message said that the auspicious occasion of 14 August we resolve to uphold our national values of unity faith and discipline, as envisioned by the vision of Father of the Nation. He appreciated the resilience and perseverance exhibited by the nation in coping with the menace of terrorism and natural calamities. He also expressed Pakistan’s continued support for the Kashmiri cause of self determination and vowed to raise the Kashmir issue at all international forums. He said Pakistan followed a policy of peace within peace without to pursue its economic agenda and in this regard expressed Pakistan’s full support for a durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Addressing the event Ambassador Moin ul Haque complimented the leaders of Pakistan movement and their struggle and sacrifices. He stated that it was now the collective duty of all Pakistanis to fulfill the vision of Quaid to make Pakistan a peaceful and strong country through “Unity, Faith and Discipline”. Speaking on the significance of Pakistan- China friendship he said that both countries shared the dream of development, peace and security in the region wherein China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was a key milestone for the prosperous future of Pakistan and relationship of both the countries. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir andunderscored Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause.
On this occasion a painting exhibition depicting the culture, people and landscape of Pakistan was also inaugurated by the Ambassador along with a tree plantation to mark the 75th Independence Day and 70 years of diplomatic ties betweenChina and Pakistan. National songs were performed by the children of Pakistan Embassy Collage Beijing and a cake was cut as a part of the celebrations. Besides officials of the Embassy and their families a large number of people including members of Pakistan Community, Heads of Pakistani banks/organizations, Chinese friends and media along with their families also participated in the event.
