Exhibition on the “Art, Culture and Heritage of Pakistan” celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence organized in Beijing

An exhibition celebrating the “Art, Culture and Heritage of Pakistan” is being held at the prestigious Zhengyangmen Museum, Beijing in collaboration with China World Peace Foundation.

The exhibition showcases the art work of Pakistan’s leading artist, Mr. Jimmy Engineer. The exhibition includes one hundred paintings and sketches of Jimmy Engineer depicting (a) Pakistan’s history and its Independence; (b) Our architectural heritage; (c) Pakistani Landscape (d) Promoting Peace and Harmony; and (e) Sketches of Chinese prominent personalities and historical figures.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held on 22 March 2017 at Zhengyangmen Museum, Beijing. Ambassador (Retd) Sha Zukang, President of China-Pakistan Friendship Association was the chief guest on the occasion.


Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Mr. Masood Khalid highlighted the importance of people-to-people contacts and cultural connectivity between Pakistan and China. The art exhibition is an indication of the growing cultural cooperation between the two countries. He thanked the Chinese government for its support to the exhibition.

The inaugural ceremony of the art exhibition was attended by a large number of people including officials from the Chinese government, intellectuals, influential people from the civil society and members of the Pakistani community.

The art exhibition is part of the year long activities being organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence.
