Chairman CPPCC Mr. Yu Zhengsheng visits Pakistan

At the invitation of Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) led a Parliamentary delegation to pay an official visit to Pakistan on 5-6 April 2017. During his visit, Mr. Yu Zhengsheng held meetings with the President, Prime Minister, Chairman Senate and Acting Speaker National Assembly.
 
During the meeting between the visiting Chairman CPPCC and Chairman Senate of Pakistan, the two sides agreed to further promote their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. They also agreed on the need for frequent Parliamentary exchanges between the two countries as this would help in promoting mutual understanding and learning between the legislators of the two countries. The two leaders underscored that the Parliaments of the two countries enjoy close and cordial ties and exchange of visits of Parliamentarians from both sides have added vigour and vitality to the bilateral relationship. They also reiterated the commitment together to push ahead with the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
 
During this meeting with Chairman Senate of Pakistan, the visiting Chairman CPPCC Mr. Yu Zhengsheng said that China and Pakistan were good neighbors, good partners, good friends and good brothers. He highlighted the frequent high-level exchanges, enhanced practical cooperation, and close coordination and collaboration on major issues between the two countries. Mr. Yu said that CPPCC was ready to enhance exchanges with the Pakistani Senate.
 
Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said that Pakistan and China have enjoyed a long history of friendship with ever-closer ties that have stood the test of history. He said that the Parliaments of two countries enjoy close and cordial ties. Frequent visits of Parliamentarians from both sides have further strengthened the bilateral relationship. Chairman Senate said that Pakistani Senate was willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the CPPCC.
 
Recent Parliamentary visits from Pakistan to China include the visit by the Speaker National Assembly in January 2015 and Chairman Senate in November 2015.
