Foreign Secretary addresses Chinese Scholars at China Institute of International Studies (CIIS)

During her visit to Beijing from 21-23 August 2017, Ambassador Tehmina Janjua, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan held an interaction with Chinese scholars at China Institute of International Studies (CIIS).The attenders included scholars, experts and academics from various think tanks and institutions in Beijing including from CIIS, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Beijing Foreign Studies University.  

The Foreign Secretary, in her speech highlighted foreign policy of Pakistan focusing on Pak-China bilateral relation and regional and global situation. Foreign Secretary emphasized Pakistan’s strong bond with China in all areas including in the fields of economy, trade, security, combating terrorism, and people to people contact. Regarding China Pakistan Economic Corridor, she said that there was a national consensus regarding CPEC and it would continue to flourish. The Foreign Secretary added that Pakistan will work together with the SCO member countries to strengthen it and would support China during its chairmanship of the SCO.
