7th Round of China-Pakistan Consular Consultations Held in Beijing

7th Round of China-Pakistan Consular Consultations was held in Beijing on 26 September 2017. The Pakistani delegation was headed by Mr. Mohammad Hassan, Director General (China) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, while the Chinese side was led by Deputy Director General Chen Xiongfeng, Consular Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China. Consular affairs between China and Pakistan are governed by the “Consular Convention between Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Government of People’s Republic of China (1992)”. Consular consultations is a regular mechanism between Pakistan and China.
During the consultations, the two sides discussed measures to improve consular facilitation mechanism to address visa and immigration issues. They agreed to further enhance consular facilitations to enhance people-to-people exchanges and interaction under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The Consultations were held in cordial and constructive environment. The two countries have frequent high level exchanges which are clear manifestation of deep rooted mutual trust.
Next Round of Consultations will be held in Islamabad.
