CHARITY BAZAR HELD IN WORKER’S STADIUM, BEIJING

October 29,2017

A one day Charity Bazar was held in Beijing’s Worker’s Stadium to raise funds for the poor counties of Yunnan province on 29th October 2017. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China and China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation, with representatives of about a hundred Foreign Embassies, International Organizations and companies in the attendance.
 
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi along with his spouse visited Pakistani pavilion comprising five booths. They were welcomed by Ambassador Masood Khalid, his spouse and other senior officials of the Embassy. Mr. Wang Yi lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Embassy and signed a Pakistan made football, which are used in International competitions and are a significant export item.
 
Ambassador Masood Khalid commended the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for holding this charity event. He said that Pakistan has been making substantial contributions for such bazaars for many years. He hoped that this year too, Pakistan will be able to donate a substantial amount for the needy people in Yunnan province. He also lauded the efforts of Pakistan Women Association in Beijing which made strenuous efforts to represent Pakistan in the event.
 
Pakistani pavilion was a huge success due to display of ethnic embroidered dresses, shawls, bags, cushion, camel skin table lamps, marble artifacts, carved boxes, carpets and specially the Sialkot made footballs. Pakistani food was a favorite item and attracted the attention of the visitors.

The highlight of the pavilion was Pakistani bridal dress which attracted a lot of interest and helped introduce Pakistani culture and customs to the wider Chinese and international audience.
