Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Said CPEC is All about People, Cultural Relations to be Enhanced

Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was all about the people and stressed for enhancing cultural collaboration between the two countries to familiarize them about the benefits of this flagship project.
She made these remarks during her meeting with Mr Tong Gang, Vice Minister of Chinese State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT).
She said that the CPEC was a flagship project of Belt and Road Initiative announced by President Xi Jinping for shared prosperity and well-being of the people across the regions and beyond.
Spelling out the collaboration between the Radio and Television of both the countries, she said that the present government was formulating a film policy adding we have announced various incentives to revive the film industry in our country.
She said that Pakistan was now producing good quality films for cinema viewers but we want to follow Chinese model to further develop our film industry on modern lines.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that presently China was collaborating with 19 countries in film production and Pakistan wanted to become its 20th partner in this field.
She informed the Chinese minister that Pakistan had set up a Chinese cultural centre in Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
She said that Pakistan was committed to participate in the film festival on the occasion of summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Welcoming the delegation, Chinese Vice Minister said that China and Pakistan friendship was an example of brotherly relations for the world.
The Chinese Vive Minister informed that China was producing 700 films annually and had nearly 50,000 screens. China, he said was keen to share its experience with Pakistan.
The minister said that the proposal from the Chinese side to work on agreement for cooperation in the area of film production is endorsed and hoped that two sides would work out details for an expeditious conclusion of an agreement.
Pakistan Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid and senior officials from both the sides were also present in the meeting.
