Kashmir Black Day Commemorated in Beijing

October 27,2019

On the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, an event was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing, co-hosted by Pakistan Embassy College Beijing on 27th October, 2019.

The event started with recitation of Holy Quran. A documentary showcasing Kashmir issue generated great interest amongst the audience. The College Principal in her address traced the historical background of the Kashmir issue. Students also spoke on Kashmir issue followed by a tableau on Kashmir, performed by the students with evoked strong emotional response from the audience.

Ambassador Naghmana Hashmi was the Chief Guest on the occasion and paid tributes to the just and fair struggle of the Kashmiri people. She said that the purpose of observing this day is not only to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people but to revive the memory of the Black Day when Indian forces illegally occupied Kashmir. She said that the International community should take notice of complete lock down and ongoing atrocities by occupation forces in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Ambassador observed that India never fulfilled its promise of holding a plebiscite in Kashmir, despite numerous resolutions passed by UN Security Council making Kashmir issue one of the oldest unresolved disputes in the world. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s unflinching diplomatic, moral and political support to the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people and urged the International community to fulfill its promise to them in securing their right of self-determination.
