Kashmir Black Day: Solidarity with Kashmiris Commemorated in Beijing China

October 28,2016

On the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, Embassy of Pakistan Beijing, observed Solidarity Day with Kashmiris on 28th October, 2016.

The event WHICH WAS CO HOSTED BY Pakistan Embassy College started with recitation from Holy Quran followed by an address by the College Principal Ms. Shagufta Ansari wherein she traced the historical background of the Kashmir issue. The students spoke on the Kashmir issue followed by a quiz competition about Kashmir which generated great interest amongst the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Masood Khalid said that the purpose of observing this day is not only to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people but to revive the memory of that Black Day when Indian forces illegally occupied Kashmir. He observed that despite numerous resolutions passed by UN’s Security Council, India never fulfilled its promise of holding a plebiscite in Kashmir.

He strongly asserted that India cannot camouflage the true sentiments of Kashmiri people by harsh measures and by denying access of world media, independent NGOs to occupied Kashmir which have documented human rights violation by the Indian occupying force.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s diplomatic, moral and political support to the just struggle of Kashmiri people.

The event which was attended by a large number of members of Pakistani community, ended with the national anthem.
