Kashmir Black Day Event Held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing

October 27,2020

At a special event organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing today to mark Kashmir Black Day, strong support was expressed for the suppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Three students of Peking University spoke about the history of the Kashmir dispute, human rights violations especially after the illegal act of Indian government on 5th August last year. They termed the Indian actions as threat to the regional peace and stability.

Ambassador Moin ul Haque speaking on the occasion paid tribute to the valiant people of Jammu & Kashmir for their just cause in exercising their right to self-determination. He lamented that for the last seven decades, the people of Jammu & Kashmir have been brutalized, tortured, and humiliated and have been subject to worst human rights violations. Today, Jammu & Kashmir is the most militarized zone in the world and is under military siege and with continued denial of fundamental freedom to the local people.

He thanked the government and the people of China for their principled support to the cause of the Kashmiri people. He stated that the true meaning and the significance of the Kashmiris’ epic struggle for dignity and freedom could be better understood by China which itself had a long struggle against foreign occupation and imperialism, and has a proud history of supporting oppressed people and cause of liberty and freedom in the world.

He stated that Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiris and would become their voice in every international forum and would continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to their cause.
Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read on the occasion.
