Women Delegation from Pakistan Embassy Visited New Day Foster Home
December 06,2016
A women delegation from the Embassy of Pakistan, headed by Madam Sonia Masood, wife of the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, visited New Day Foster Home in Beijing on 6th Dec. 2016.
Briefing about the foster home, the Director (PR) Mr. Kevin said that it was formally established in 2000 for Chinese children suffering from physical and mental handicaps who grow up without the nurturing hands of parents. Thus the aim of the foster home is to alleviate the suffering of these children by providing them with care and hope.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Sonia Masood said that we are lucky to be able to spare our efforts and time for care of those in need. She showed keen interest in observing the facility and spent some quality time with the children. She also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Embassy College Beijing for helping in arrangement of the much needed gifts for the children.
The delegation members were overwhelmed by emotions as the abandoned children made a heart wrenching sight but the selflessness of the Chinese staff as well as the volunteers proved to be a beacon of hope.
The Director Ms. Karen Brenneman highlighted the role of foreign volunteers and donors in helping run the foster home. She thanked the delegation for the low key visit as well as the gifts followed by a group photo.
