China-Pakistan Technology Investment Conference

The first China-Pakistan Technology Investment Conference was held today. This event was co-organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) and Zhongguancun Belt Road Association for Industrial Cooperation (ZBRA).
​In his opening remarks, Ambassador Moin ul Haqhighlighted the growing importance of close cooperation between China and Pakistan in the fields of science &technology and information technology under CPEC framework. He noted that Special Joint Working Groups for Science & Technology and IT Cooperation have been established, while In February this year, China-Pakistan Digital Corridor (CPDC) was also launched to deepen all-round cooperation and exchanges in the fields of technology investment, technology zones development and digital industry development. The Ambassador invited China IT companies to benefit from investor friendly policies and incentives to establish their businesses, R&D centers and manufacturing units in the special technology zones being set up across Pakistan.
​Mr. Amer Hashmi, Chairman STZA and his team briefed the participants about the salient aspects of the Authority which has been set up based on successful models in China, South Korea and Europe. The Authority was offering a complete eco-system and a unique set of fiscal and monetary incentives which were unmatched in the region. Mr. Cao Zhouhua, First Secretary at Chinese Embassy in Islamabad and Mr. Zhang Xiaodong, President ZBRA also spoke on the occasion. Later, Chinese enterprises had an interactive session with STZA for better understanding of opportunities and incentives for making technology investments in Pakistan. 
​The online event attracted unprecedented participation fromnearly 1000 attendees from Chinese high-tech enterprises, Foreign Affairs Offices of different provinces, universities, Chambers of Commerce and senior officials of various technology zones of China.
