Pakistan Participates in the 2nd North Bund Forum 2022, Shanghai

Pakistan participated in the opening ceremony of the 2nd North Bund Forum 2022 being held in Shanghai on 22-24November 2022. Pakistan was represented in the Forum by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari through a video link and Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai in person. The Minister of Transport of China delivered the keynote speech during the opening ceremony through a video link, and the Forum was formally inaugurated by the Party Secretary of Shanghai.  

Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, also delivered a video speech at the Forum. In his remarks, the Minister highlighted the importance of close bilateral cooperation in shipping and maritime industry. He further stated that Pakistan greatly values its close collaboration with China in multiple sectors including technology transfer and sharing of know-how, as the country is looking to developing digital and green ports to better leverage its location and enhance its position as a transit and transshipment hub in the region.

Being held with the theme of ‘Green, Intelligent and Resilient Global Shipping & Aviation through Global Partnership’, the Forum aims to deliberate on promotion of international cooperation in shipping and maritime industry and propose ways for working together to build a more resilient and reliable supply chain service network and jointly promotingthe smooth operation of the international shipping industry amid the lingering pandemic impact and fluctuations in global economic landscape.
